CHESTNUT HONEY
Honey varieties are named according to which plant the honey-making bee receives the pollen and nectar from. Honey varieties are named according to the DENSITY OF THE PLANT NECTAR. Like chestnut honey, thyme honey, lavender honey, pine honey. Sometimes it is named as Anzer honey, Kars honey, plateau honey depending on where the honey is produced.
Chestnut honey is the honey that bees are left in places where chestnut tree cultivation is intense (black sea) and they are obtained from the nectar that bees collect intensively from this plant.
With the blossoming of the flowers on the chestnut tree, the flower essences that bees take from these flowers are the dark brown color we call chestnut honey, with a taste and smell unique to bitter chestnut.
Chestnut honey is not like flower honey. Since its taste is bitter and should not be consumed more than a certain amount, it is not a honey to be spread on bread for breakfast. The recommended dosage for adults and healthy people is 1-2 teaspoons a day at most.
