CO2 (Cardon Dioxide) Car

“Can we make a vehicle whose fuel is carbon dioxide? “Can we make a car that moves without an engine?”

In the balloon car making product experience, children will have the opportunity to observe how to move their vehicle with action and reaction forces through the balloon.

According to Newton's 3rd law, for every action there is a reaction. Action and reaction are equal in magnitude but opposite in direction. In this experience, the children will prepare a mechanism that shows how action and reaction forces occur. At the end of the experience, they observe that the air trapped in the balloon comes out quickly due to the pressure difference and exerts a force on the wooden tool.

Our vehicle moves in the opposite direction to the air coming out of the balloon in response to the impact.

CO2 CAR GAINS

  • It improves constructiveness and creativity aspects.
  • Provides hand and eye coordination. Analytical thinking skills increase.
  • Explains the force between pressure and thrust.
  • It explains that the pressure of the air trapped inside the balloon is greater than the pressure of the air outside.
  • He realizes that the friction force will cause a decrease in kinetic energy.
  • Have information about action and reaction forces.
  • He tries new approaches to innovation and invention and designs new products.
  • Creates models and structures using different geometric objects.
  • He can perform movements that require a certain amount of strength by using his small muscles.
  • Makes three-dimensional works using different materials.
  • “I can do it too.” Creating individuals who produce, not consume, by reinforcing the feeling of

CONCRETE OUTCOME OF THE EXPERIENCE

At the end of the experience, children will enjoy playing with the "CO2 Cars" they have produced.

Our product is not industrial. Problem solving is among our ultimate goals. When balloon cars break down, we aim to help them find a solution to the problem and try to repair it. We want it to control the rods, the casing, the friction, and the impact area when there is inactivity.

We used wood as the main body in the product we provided. We want our students to differentiate balloon cars and make different balloon cars by using other materials through hacking. We want them to experience balloon cars with books, pencil holders, plastic bottles and different tools.
