- Redka chess Chess is a mind game played between two players. Half of the total 64 squares are black and half are white. The parties take white and black colored stones, the game progresses with each player making one move at a time. At the beginning of the game, white and black have 16 tiles. These consist of a king, a queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights and eight pawns. The aim of the game is to checkmate the opposing side's king. King / king The king is the most important piece, but it is also one of the weakest pieces. The king can move only one square in any direction - up, down, sideways and diagonally. The king can never advance to a position where the king will be checked (a square where he will be captured). When the king is threatened by another piece, it is called "checking". Queen / queen Queen is the most powerful piece. He can move directly in any direction - forward, backward, sideways or diagonally - as far as possible without passing over any of his own pieces. Like all pieces, if the queen captures an opponent's piece, its move ends. Notice how the white queen captures the black queen and then the black king is forced to move. Rook / rook The rook can move as far as he wants, but only forward, backward and sideways. Rooks are pieces that are especially powerful when they protect each other and work together. Pawn /pawn Pawns are unusual because they move and capture pieces differently. They move forward but capture the opponent's piece diagonally. Pawns can only move forward one square at a time, except for their first move, when they can move forward two squares. Pawns can only capture a piece that is one square diagonally in front of them. They can never move backwards or capture pieces. If a pawn has another piece directly in front of it, it cannot pass or capture it. Knight /knight Knights move in a very different way from other pieces - They move two squares in one direction and then one more square at a 90 degree angle, just like the letter "l". Knights are also the only pieces that can move over other pieces. Bishop /bishop The elephant can move as far as he wants, only diagonally. Each elephant starts on one color (light or dark) and must stay on that color at all times. Elephants work well together because they cover each other's weaknesses.
