Victorinox 6.7733 10cm Serrated Paring Knife Handle: Fibrox Blade Type: Pointed Serrated Blade Length: 10 cm Color: Black Length: 211 mm Width: 21.3 mm Height: 10.6 mm In 1884, Carl Elsener founded the Victorinox knife factory, which is still in operation today, in the town of Ibach, Switzerland. Here, he began manufacturing kitchen knives and military knives, which would later become the forerunners of the multifunctional Swiss Army Knife, renowned worldwide for its quality. In 1897, he began producing the officer's knife model, now known as the original Swiss Army Knife. In 1909, the company name was changed to "Victoria," after Carl's mother. In 1929, stainless steel (Inox) was discovered, and the company name "Victoria" was expanded to include "Inox," resulting in the current company name, Victorinox. The production stages of high-quality Victorinox kitchen knives are as follows: Press molding: Different types of knives are pressed from raw steel in presses ranging from 20 to 250 tons. Hardening: Heat treatments are applied at approximately 1050°C, resulting in the optimal blade edge durability and flexibility characteristic of Victorinox. The purpose of the hardening process is to make the steel harder, thus making it less prone to wear for longer-lasting use. Polishing is necessary to increase the blade's resistance to rust, improve cutting performance, and enhance the blade's appearance. Sharpening: Victorinox's renowned precise cutting angle determines the sharpness and edge durability of the blade. Victorinox guarantees that all knives and tools it produces are made from premium stainless steel.
